Unwritten: A Plug
As an author, it’s rare that I appreciate writing in video games.
Often it’s not necessarily the writer’s fault. Writing as a discipline must sometimes contort itself horribly to serve broader, madder designs. That’s why I’m so excited about a game on kickstarter that’s focus is not on shaders and gore, but on story. Not just story as in, hey: this is a great story — what say we make us a game about it? — but the ancient tradition of story telling. Unwritten promises to deliver a tribal, epic and beautifully scored game with spiritual roots in games like Journey.
The project has raked in about 25% of what it needs to get off the ground and now is a crucial time for getting the rest funded before the deadline. We could use more intelligent games like this. Check out Roxlou and support them if you can.
