Aidan asked me to do a guest blog on media impact in a fantasy setting and why I chose to use media in my novels. You can check it out here: http://aidanmoher.com/blog/2013/03/articles/fantasy-is-hardly-an-escape-from-reality-by-anthony-huso/
As an author, it’s rare that I appreciate writing in video games.
Often it’s not necessarily the writer’s fault. Writing as a discipline must sometimes contort itself horribly to serve broader, madder designs. That’s why I’m so excited about a game on kickstarter that’s focus is not on shaders and gore, but on story. Not just story as in, hey: this is a great story — what say we make us a game about it? — but the ancient tradition of story telling. Unwritten promises to deliver a tribal, epic and beautifully scored game with spiritual roots in games like Journey.
Just a quick post with a cool no-trace walk through of my map in Dishonored: Lady Boyle.
Here’s the next installment in the video series for Dishonored. I’ll probably link the whole series here as they come out.
