As an author, it’s rare that I appreciate writing in video games.
Often it’s not necessarily the writer’s fault. Writing as a discipline must sometimes contort itself horribly to serve broader, madder designs. That’s why I’m so excited about a game on kickstarter that’s focus is not on shaders and gore, but on story. Not just story as in, hey: this is a great story — what say we make us a game about it? — but the ancient tradition of story telling. Unwritten promises to deliver a tribal, epic and beautifully scored game with spiritual roots in games like Journey.

I had a very nice time talking with Dave Truesdale a while back. He read Black Bottle without having read The Last Page . The result: I was shocked speechless that he understood what was going on in the book. Best part is he loved it. Interview with him is up at SFSite.
